Bambossa was created as an alternative outlet for music produced by Harry “Choo-Choo” Romero. Though most of his music was imported on Subliminal Records since 97’, Harry felt the need to express himself in a different, more experimental way. The year 2000 saw the genesis of Bambossa Recordings. Harry’s idea was to keep this as a boutique label with limited collectible releases. The first release was a club classic titled “so lonely” co-produced by pre –Who Da Funk fame, Alex Alicea. With the release under way, Harry got busy in the studio and created two masterpieces titled “Night at the Black” and “Tania”. These 2 releases in 2001 took the club world by storm being caned by Dee Jay’s in different genres all across the globe. These 2 releases put Bambossa on the map and established Harry as a bonified and respected beat maker. With the popularity of these records Harry’s tour schedule was booked solid for months. There he was able to take the Bambossa sound from city to city and created a fan base which remains devoted to this day. Few releases followed. The quirky “What Happened” with vocals by Jessica Eve became an underground hit. Followed by an Eddie Grant cover “Time Warp” titled “Warped”. The year 2006 saw the release of yet another club stomper titled “Son of Mongo” which dove deep into Harry’s jazzy roots featuring a live sax solo over Harry’s unmistakable beats. Bambossa was created as an alternative outlet for music produced by Harry “Choo-Choo” Romero. Though most of his music was imported on Subliminal Records since 97’, Harry felt the need to express himself in a different, more experimental way. 2007 sees Bambossa Records taking a different approach. Harry will be collaborating with Spanish international artists such Nick and Danny Chatelain; there first Bambossa release called “Me Resuelve” is already heralded as a future underground classic breaking down all genre barriers. Also featured on this release will be a remix by Harry “Choo Choo” Romero and Todd Gardner. Look out for the release during the winter music conference March of 07’ in Miami, Florida USA. Future releases will take place every 8 weeks thereafter showcasing the collaborative efforts of Harry and friends. The emphasis on building a “crew” promises to bring the Bambossa sound to a heightened level around the world through the various residencies starting here in the U.K.So… keep a sharp eye for things to come!!!! |
